Income eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Programs is determined by income limits established by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) annually for Clearwater. A family's total annual income must not exceed the low income amount guidelines of 80% if the area median income effective March 2009: 1 Person in Household - $33,150 2 Persons in Household - $37,900 3 Persons in Household - $42,600 4 Persons in Household - $47,350 5 Persons in Household - $51,150 6 Persons in Household - $54,950
This Program, also known as Section 8, is designed to allow flexibility and mobility to low income families in their housing choices within the city limits of Clearwater. Participants pay only a portion of the rent, based on income. The balance is then guaranteed to the owner from Clearwater Housing Authority.

Our scattered site public housing program is our newest program. It offers an opportunity for qualified applicants to live in a home located in Clearwater. The premise is to provide public housing without the stigma of clustering many units together as was done in the past. These beautiful homes provide a much needed opportunity to qualified families.

of Merit in Housing and Community Development PARKVIEW VILLAGE Parkview Village will be a new neighborhood incorporating a commercial component, rental apartments and a homeownership component as well. Its design will include many eco- friendly elements and will be a beautiful neighborhood to call home. Currently, in its predevelopment stage, this new community will be built on approximately 40 acres conveniently located on the South East end of Drew Street and Bayview Avenue, in beautiful Clearwater, Florida. Predevelopment work will continue for Parkview Village throughout 2009; due to the complexity of the market and project, predevelopment work will be focused on financing, engineering, and infrastructure issues. We do not expect to begin building vertically on this site in 2009. The site is currently under lease to Florida Gas.

This attractive seven story building with 50 apartments offers one and
two bedroom apartments. Located near the beaches, public transportation,
and a Town Pond and Park.

Towers provides 150 one-bedroom apartments of subsidized housing for
seniors, the disabled and handicapped. This twelve story high rise stands
amid massive oak trees. Residents enjoy its convenient location to the
beaches, public transportation, shopping and many other activities.

Hampton Apartments at Clearwater is an eight story 275 unit apartment
community for people 55+. Located next to Ruth Eckerd Hall, it is convenient
to shopping, transportation and the arts. On site amenities include
a pool, cleaning services, banking and a hair salon. Twenty percent
of the units have been set aside for low income residents. The remaining
units are restricted to moderate income, while the entire community is
restricted by an income cap.
ineview
is a lovely two story fifty unit family community. Residents enjoy a
clubhouse and a pool, as well as their choice of one or two bedroom
apartments. Located near shopping, transportation, and schools, this
property is 100% designated for low to moderate income residents. the
entire community is restricted by an income cap.

Walk Apartments is a family community with 182 units. This two story
facility is comprised mostly of two bedroom units, including townhomes.
It also offers one and three bedroom units, a swimming pool and kids’
clubhouse. Families who call Sabal Walk home enjoy nearby shopping and
transportation. Twenty percent of the units have been set aside for
low income residents. The remaining units are restricted to moderately
low income residents. The entire community is restricted by an income
cap.

Apartments boast 204 units ranging from one to three bedrooms. There
is a beautiful swimming pool, fitness room, business center and garages
within this gated community. Close to the beaches, transportation and
shopping, Mainstreet offers a luxurious home setting. Twenty percent
of the units are set aside for people of moderate to low income and
the entire community is restricted by an income cap.
